Over the years nail art experts have developed various acrylic nail art techniques.
Amongst them, some are mentioned here, below...
- Sketching designs : This is like body art or tattooing, wherein the artists sketches designs on the nails that look like body tattoos. These designs are usually drawn using a fine tip pen or calligraphy pen to create fine strokes. Or then a fine paintbrush is used. Usually the colors used for this design is a shade of dark olive green or black. The shaded strokes are extremely fine.
- The outline can be a different color, with multiple shades used to fill in the designs. This depends on the finish one desires.
- The use of a striper brush to create dots of various dots.
- Using a toothpick or a bobby pin to create extremely thing outlines, as well as dots of varying thickness.
- Color blending : This can be done by applying multiple dots and then with brush blending the colors and create a unique shaded effect.
- Marble effect : This is also known as water marbling. For this one needs to fill a wide mouthed cup (not too shallow) with 80% to 90% water. The marble design has to be created in the water with the nail polish. then with the nail facing downwards, dip it into the water and the nail polish will get stuck on the nail. Immediately one needs to remove the excess polish from the sides of the nail using a cotton swab.
- Nail stickers can be used to decorate nails. This is rather popular amongst young girls.
- Another medium used adorn nails is glitter.
